Learn to Sail
Have you ever wanted to experience the thrill and excitement of sailing? Why not Learn to sail with Hunters?
Cutting across the beautiful inland waterways, using only the power of the wind is an amazing feeling, bringing you close to nature and following in the wake of a sailing tradition that this fine county is renowned for.
Perhaps you wanted to try your hand at sailing but never taken up the opportunity? Many people believe that sailing is the preserve of the wealthy and fortunate. In many respects this is still the case.
However, now you can discover sailing under the big Norfolk skies, in the safe hands of our Skippers who will, quite literally, show you the ropes and help you to learn about sailing at a pace you feel comfortable with.
At Hunter’s Yard we have the privilege of maintaining the Norfolk Heritage Fleet; a unique fleet of traditional sailing craft designed and built in the 1930s by Percy Hunter.
We have one aim; to help you enjoy the experience of sailing these incredible craft with the support of our experienced team.
Taking the helm of our yachts is akin to slipping behind the wheel of a classic car; and an experience that very few people have the opportunity to enjoy. Our experienced skippers can help you learn some of the basis of sailing fairly quickly.
As a Charitable Trust, with the responsibility of preserving these beautiful boats, we have the pleasure of helping a wide range of adults and youngsters discover sailing for the first time.
Now, it’s your turn to seize the moment and decide to discover sailing, perhaps for the first time.
On these days you will arrive at Hunter’s Yard, a traditional Norfolk boatyard, where our fleet is maintained by a team of skilled craftsmen. After a briefing you’ll climb aboard and set sail.
Your Skipper will help you take your first steps in learning to sail. However, if you simply want to sit back and enjoy the ride, you’re very welcome.
A perfect way to spend your day ‘messing about on the water’, especially with a family member, friend, partner or companion.
