A main aim of the Trust is to encourage young people to sail on the Hunter Fleet.
This is because we believe the education youngsters can get from working with ‘Mother Nature’
and others can be a ‘life changing’ experience. They can learn discipline, tolerance, team work
and how to understand the elements. This in turn can help them to take responsibility
for self and others, problem solve and can increase their self-confidence.
We have school groups, Scouts, Cadets and other types of youth organisations who are already
enjoying the Fleet, coming year after year. They take the whole Fleet or maybe just a few boats
with an experienced skipper on each boat and set sail for a week or perhaps just a few days.
If needed, we can put the organiser in touch with experienced sailors who are willing to help
as part of their support of Hunters Fleet. The Trust offers a 40% discount on all cabin yacht hire
or short break half decker hire for organised youth groups.
If you are not able to sail and would like to bring some youngsters just for the experience you
can always try our 2 hour skippered sail. We can take up to 20 young people;
or more in shifts and 2-3 supervisors at a time.
We provide you with experienced skippers for each boat and buoyancy jackets for everyone.
We offer a 20% discount on 2 hour sails for organised youth groups.
