Helpful information when coming to Hunters Yard
Welcome to our useful information page. We hope you will find this page helpful while planning your trip with Hunter’s Yard.

Finding us
Our Yard is sign posted on the main road once you’re in Ludham, the road sign reads, at the bottom, Horsefen Road – Hunters Yard. Once on Horsefen Road just follow it all the way down to the very bottom where you will find us on the right hand side.
Expected time of arrival
On arrival please visit the office which is located at the back of the shed on the left hand side.
Half Decker Hire – you can collect your boat anytime from 9:00am.
Cabin Yacht Hire:
Short break bookings -- arrival time is between 11:00am – 2.00pm.
You can of course arrive after this time.
Full week bookings – arrival time is between 2:00pm--4:00pm.
If you will be later than 4:00pm please let the yard know by 3:00pm.
If you choose to arrive earlier your yacht may not be ready due to the turnaround time. (If you arrive after working hours without prior arrangement a charge may be made, please see our terms and conditions on your
invoice)

Departure
All craft are expected to be vacated by 9am on your departure date please. Please leave your craft clean and tidy.
Details for your ‘Crew Sheet’ – All craft
Please note a new ‘crew sheet’ will need to be filled out every time you hire a yacht from us.
- We need to know who will be on your yacht with you and who will be allocated as ‘Skipper’.
- Emergency contact numbers ‐any numbers you will have with you on the yacht and any emergency contact number you have for someone at ‘home’.
- Car registration number.
- Life Jackets – You are welcome to bring your own life jackets but we do supply self activating jackets on board the cabin yachts, one per berth, as well as offering the ‘old style’ life jackets in the yard. We still use only the older style jackets on the half deckers.
- Your signature – We will need you to sign your crew sheet to say that in case of any losses or damages to the boat/equipment you are willing to pay. For major damages the charge would be £250 for a cabin yacht or a half‐decker (per incident).
You will be given a copy of your crew sheet for your reference.
Extra equipment needed ‐ cabins
On board the yacht we supply the crockery, cutlery, pans etc (you can see a fuller list in the Inventory section on this page and our brochure page 23.) and other utensils but extra things you need are as follows:
- Washing up liquid
- Sleeping bags/bedding
- Food provisions
- Toilet roll
- Sun tan lotion
- Personal belongings
- Water proofs
- Torch
Extra gear, sailing and rowing dinghies

Shopping deliveries
We are only able to accept shopping deliveries if prior arrangement has been made with the yard staff.
Parking at Hunters
Parking at the yard is very limited as most of you know, so please be advised that all bookings are allocated only one parking space per boat. Should you require more please let us know in advance.
Please also note, extra vehicles may be subject to a small charge.
All vehicle registration numbers must be left with the Yard. Vehicles are left on the premises at owners risk.
Emergency Services
112 is an emergency telephone number that can be dialled free of charge from any telephone or mobile phone in order to reach emergency services. This service can be used if you have no signal on your phone.

Bedding
NEW since 2016
We provide bedding comprising of a Duvet (10.5 Tog), Cotton Duvet cover & Pillow Case, Fitted Sheet and a Mattresses cover.
Youth groups and school bookings have blankets and a pillow in a cotton pillowcase.

Pets
Pets are welcome – There is a £30 charge for pets due to the additional cleaning required. Please bring your own pet blankets with you.
Buoyancy Jackets
We provide the use of buoyancy jackets free of charge in a variety of sizes: babies, children and adults and recommend that everyone wears a jacket while on the boats.
Cabin yachts have self activating jackets allocated to each boat but can be changed to the crew saver style if preferred.
Half-deckers use the crew saver jackets
You are of course very welcome to use your own
